| CWP Consortium Project: |
|
| The Center for Wave Phenomena has enjoyed a highly interactive relationship with sponsor companies of its Consortium since its beginning at the Colorado School of Mines in 1984. This interaction, which is of mutual value to both the Center and to its sponsors, takes several forms including semi-annual meetings, on-site visitations, short courses, and one-on-one discussions with researchers. In addition, companies who offer summer internships to our students benefit directly from the projects they complete, and more indirectly from establishing working relationships with some of the brightest and most enthusiastic students in geophysics. Besides receiving an edge on advances in research through our proprietary software codes and reports, attendance at our annual meetings provides scientific interactions with other sponsor representatives as well as with university faculty and students. We encourage extended visits to the university by company representatives and visits by university faculty or students to companies. Interacting closely with our faculty and students is a cost-effective way to augment and extend your company's in-house technology in exploration. |
